Does this sound like a lifter getting stuck?

Seems to fast for a lifter or lifters, send another with an RPM change.
That squeaking sound is probably you idler pulley.
The best method is go buy a mechanics stethoscope, best method for tracking noise.

5 months and how many miles,
lifter noise should go with RPM change, your noise just sounds too fast for being at an idle. Unless it is two or more lifters.
If you have a lot of miles on the oil, change it out, new MB filter, 0w-40 Mobil 1 as being the norm.

Thats never a lifter or something related...
Take off both belts, start the car. Sound is still there?
If Yes - > I would suspect its something with the timing chain, its rails, the chain tensioner etc. You need to take off the valve covers to inspect it at least.
Then get a video endoscope and try to get down direction tensioner, crankshaft, etc.
If No -> I suspect the Alternator.

Keep us updated. Curious as to what could cause this and GL!

I'm thinking one of the chains/tensioner out causing the noise. Quite fast at idle to be anything else.
As others say - keep us posted! Curious minds want to know!

Its definetly not the oilpumps chain/tensioner, its nowhere near that "hard" of a knock/rattle, and its gone after idle.
I was thinking that if it would be timing chains tensioner failing completly, but then again the sound is so sharp knock, not a draging ratle that a loose chain does if that makes any sense.

I will try to keep you guys posted. Trying to find time this weekend to change the oil. The knock comes on for 10-20 seconds and goes away only to come back a minute or two later. Happens whether the car is cold in the morning, or after a two hour trip. I'm actually dropping the car off at the dealer sometime next week for the fuel bulletin. I may have them look into it just so I have a better idea. It is a bit unsettling.
