Found an oil leak

Looks like it's coming from the top of the trans housing on the passenger side. Rear main seal?

Is your fuel pressure regulator leaking?

If it were a rear main seal, the whole bellhousing would have to fill up before it started leaking out of the top

To be honest, other that the crankshaft position sensor on the driver side I have no idea how you could get a leak on the top of the bell with this engine

I did notice some years back that the trans fluid MB Sugar Land put in my car was a similar color as oil. If your car has been serviced at the dealer and they refilled the trans through the dipstick hole and got sloppy, that could be it

pull that bell housing bolt out and see if the threads are covered in oil as well. it could be a porous block. if it is then clean up the threads in the hole and on the bolt and put on some purple loctite.

Thanks everyone for the input. I noticed it when I was changing the FP regulator so that is likely it.

Looked a little oily/gummy though and like it is coming from that bolt.

I'll go back and confirm

Sugar Mouth is suggesting that it's not oil, but fuel from the FPR (which was leaking).

Stupid me just assumed it was oil.
