When are injectors needed

Hi all

Currently running a 180 crank pulley with EC heat exchanger + EC tune, looking to do an EC upper pulley too but wondering what the limit is for the current injectors before running lean is?

Is this combo safe on stock injectors?

550CC with a looped rail will give you a safety net.

I would not be so concerned about the fuel injector size (although a concern). I am always scared about high mileage fuel pumps getting clogged up and not being able to deliver fuel.

At least on the 215 there is a fuel pressure sensor and 2 fuel pumps so if one dies it will log a fault put it in limp mode.

At least no leaning out from the a failing fuel pump.

so are we saying 16/17psi on stock injectors without rail modification is ok on stock system? I have a brand new fuel filter also.

When you get near 500WHP.. It's a good precautionary move to go to 550's and looped rail.. You do Not want to max out the duty cycle of the stock injectors..

Ok so before I look at SC pulley I should look at a set of injectors, are these suitable for the M113K in my car:

Are they a straight fit:

For traditional e55"s just loop the rail, add a center inlet with a 90 degree screw on filter and remove the factory filter. All set. I think the op"s car is set up the same? Learned all this from Chawkins.

I wish someone would post pics etc so we can all see and try to emulate.

I know they're pricey, but the 6 port SLR injectors will make all the difference. Remember, the SLR is rated at 626 hp and tuners have taken it way beyond that without changing the injectors --- and yes, a balanced rail is important FWIW

Choosing what size of injector?

My car has 65,000 miles, so it seems time to change the fuel filter. Some users have suggested also changing the fuel pump(s) I have read there are 2? I am hoping to get to 550RWHP. And planning on changing fuel line inlet to the center, adding screw in air filter (eliminating factory one), adding pressure guage and looping the rail, and maybe running a return, as sicamg has done. I also suspect I have original injectors, so they are likely in need if changing. So, is there a down side in going bigger, like 650cc, or should i go with the more common 550cc?
thanks.

Looped fuel rail seems to be a theory. I haven't seen any information proving that it starves fuel.

Ok, but it also seems that a looped fuel rail won’t be worse than a non-looped, and if it saves fuel starvation to #8 even once, it would be worth it.

That is true but it's not cheap
