Not racing just wondering. modded e55 vs f10 m5 vs 12+cls63
I heard that the F10 m5 is a monster ...so I went on youtube and watched a few f10 m5 vs cls63 v8tt races (gotta know your enemies right?) .. the m5s were pulling on cls' in all the videos (stock form).....not going to lie that kinda **** me off alittle as I was really looking forwards to getting a 2012+ cls63 v8tt later.....
ive got ec tune / kleemann header / 180mm cp / k&n filter / mez pump / ec exchanger / c63 muff with seconds intact.
dyno'd 490whp 590 wtq on a dynapack which prob reads high. im guessing I should be really at around 460whp area. btw don't use dynapack ...I blew second gear on there and saw another post about tranny problems after dynapack.
so my question is ... how would my e55 do against a f10 m5 stock or a 2012+cls63 stock ?
from a roll or dig. just want an idea where I stand. car runs mint and almost scary fast on a cold day.
thanks for your time bros

Yah I been looking at the f10 m5 or the m6 grand coupe for down the road... They look beast, but I think cost a lot more to mod

Even if the power / weight seems the same in both cars, those newer cars have much better and quicker transmissions. I'm not so sure if I'd consider them "more expensive to mod" as a simple ECU tune gets those cars over 100hp gains. To get 100hp gains out of an E55 you'd be spending around the same amount as one of their ECU tunes.
Yes, parts and all that are more expensive, but that's just because the platform is newer and people that own the cars at their current price will pay for it.

Off topic - How loud is your car with Kleemans and C63 mufflers?
I got the mufflers, but I'm trying to figure out how much louder it would be with headers and 1st cat removal.
Thanks

If he was stock it would be interesting. Very much a drivers race.
When they start modding you will need a 90mm tb. 84 upper would give 2 more pounds of boost around 16.7. Split cooling for sure. Also could have intakes Teflon coated for increased cfm. Maybe even a big cold air intake pipes. MBH headers would help to keep up with the big dogs also.

To be honest, F10 M5 will be my next car to replace E55. It's more aggresive look and faster than CLS63TT. I just don't like the look of E63TT so F10 M5 is really a nice car to replace the E55 in 2 years.

Not sure how you would do against those cars... Try to race one and video tape it if you can.
I really like the above mentioned cars. But, Oddly I've been taking a real hard look at the RS7. I didn't like it at first. BUt, lately it just catches my eye. The interior is bar none the best and its very fast. I think its faster then all the super sedans.

I own an F10 M5 for 2 years and use it as my daily driver. Keep in mind it's not really a fair comparison as there is more than a decade of development between the 2 cars. Even with all your mods (I'm sure your car is very fast), a stock M5 will pull on you ... dig or roll.
From a dig it's more of a drivers race as it depends who will control wheel spin better. Even "if" you get the jump, the M5 will reel you in pretty quickly. From a roll ... no matter what roll speed, you'll lose ... hot or cold ambient temperatures. The F10 M5 has 502 ft lb of torque from 1500 rpm, which is just above idle, to 5750 rpm and continues to pull big time all the way to 7200. DCT is a 7 speed, lightning quick and most importantly, has no torque interruptions between shifts ... there is also no drag on the engine because alternator is only engaged by decelerating or coasting and power steering is electric ... all together a more efficient package compared to the E55. Your first run will be the best, second and third etc. will be worse as the M5 doesn't suffer from heat soak ... at least I never experienced it in all the time I own the car.

The twin snails are always going to breathe better up top. Add to that, BMW did a great job with the overall tuning of that car. FWIW, have a look at this (thought you've probably already seen it)...
