For all u that think the 2014+ looks like an accord: stay in the past with your w210 and w211... There is nothing for you here in the future!! Go back while you still can!! Too much chrome!!!

Every thing to me depends on price. That's why we work and buy and play. A nice e will run you 275'a month. I have no interest in an auto that's 500 plus a month. I will buy another house and I have 8 already.

Should have gone like this.
Pulled up next to E63 S AMG and my car felt 8 years old.
Pulled up next to E63 S AMG and the guy driving it was a Boss.
Pulled up next to E63 S AMG and I was hoping he wouldn't feel annoyed with my gawking and step on the gas, leaving me in the dust. LoL

Do you own or even had E55 or any W211 ? This is a W211 section and some of us just don't like the facelift W212. If you like it very much then good for you.

Actually Accord looks better than the E63S if you compare the money value and the look. I just expect a little more from $100K car, specially looks very similar to no AMG W212. At least in the past, AMG and no AMG has very different body kits and side skirt but W212 looks just so similar.
And you should post your opinion in W212 section.

The W211 is actually the only recent E class I like. Especially the interior. The outside has no flaws to me, and I think it looks particularly timeless and didn't age like other cars of the same period did. But isn't easy to make a car with 4 full-featured doors (like a 4-door coupe) look good for more than 8 years. The E60 aged much worse.
The W210 is extremely dated. Comparing it to a E39 BMW is disappointing. The coupe and verts are OK.
The W212 has problems. I liked the pre-facelift front. But the pre-facelift interior is terrible. The facelift gets the front and the back out of sync, they don't look like they belong together at all.
In a spectacular move of misdirected design MB then managed to screw up the W212 "E coupe", which is more than a bit C class anyway, giving it what is plain and simply a fat ***. Like in the sedan facelift it is as if the designers of the rear were missing their weekly syncup meeting with the people doing the front.
The CLS, all generations, suffers from funny lights (front and back) syndrome to me. But that is a lesser deal than the other screwups.

When I had my fuel tank recall being done I got in a 2015 eclass loaner. So I got a good idea on the feel of the Interior and exterior. Even had the amg wheels. Man it really is unimpressive... The interior layout didn't feel right either. I know you get nice seats and stuff with amg, but it's such a let down... It may save me a ton of money though . Because like others have stated the w211 is a very nice machine to look at, of course slightly lowered with some wheels. The inside of the trunk was freakin miniature, and I personally really enjoy my much larger trunk and much more aggressive looking rear. That is what most other cars will be seeing out on the street

I have a 2012 pre-facelift E63 but I agree that the W211 E55 has a classic timeless look with regard to the car's exterior appearance. I got lucky that year because the 2012 E63 has the updated interior with the pre-facelift front end. Yet I think many car manufacturers gets it really right periodically and makes a classic looking car like the big body S-Class Benz, the original Acura Legend, several old American muscle cars etc....
I can't hate... the E55 W211 still is a hot car to me! Unfortunately, I couldn't afford one back then when they first came out.

Honestly I love the car so unassuming. When I had my 911tt all sorts of idiots would want to race. One time on the way back from the track an idiot on a crotch rocket with girlfriend on back pull up does a wheelie an darts through traffic. Now very few challenges with the e63s and on track running down M3 - M5 and turbos in a 4 door it does not get any better. I am told in the rear view it looks like a pi$$ed off monster running them down.

The e55 has a timeless look to it, I just never get tired of the car. The only thing I don't like is the stereo. I have a choice next Nov 2016 when my warranty is finally done to either keep it or trade it in. I was joking with the wife that by the time the warranty is over the car will be practically brand new. lol

2007 E63 --> 2009 S63 + 2015 S65 (RIP)
I specifically chose the 07-09 E63 because of the look. I am not a fan of the redesign, they almost made them look too plain and not that attractive in my opinion. I wouldn't mind swapping out the head units (I hate the COMAND version I have) and maybe gauges, but beyond that I love my car.
