I remember when the w211 E55 AMG first came out. It has a performance of a high end supercar and I believe it considered one of the fastest production 4dr sedan back in 03. Have you guys seen how w211 E55 stack up against Ferrari F360 at that time? W211 E55 put AMG on the map in 2000 era.

You think the new car has a short rear overhang and ours do not?!! The W211 has a really short rear overhang. The trunk is VERY short and that's a huge issue. The side profile of the W211 is disappointing. They could have made it the best looking Merc of all time. The E63 W211 front is just incredible and so is the rear. However the car just doesn't have the SIZE. It's not FAT enough. It looks skinny and that really ages any car. Look at how huge cars have become. Look at 1990s camrys and 2015 camrys. It's the fat, full look that makes a car look newer. The W211 should have been a little longer and ALOT wider. It should have been ~1900mm wide and 5000mm long. They ****ed it up though and I hate them for that. I look at the front and rear and see sooooo much design potential. Such a classic look but they ruined it.

The pre-facelift W212 AMG is much better looking than the W211. You don't realize how much until you get up close to one in person. It's not that much wider or longer but it's ALOT fatter and fuller. Very muscular and bulging.

The post-facelift is kind of weird. Still sexy though and definitely not an Accord. Anyone who thinks that is retarded and has bad vision. What next, a Lamborghini and a Prius look the same.....

Seriously though, this short rear overhang BS has to stop. They **** all their cars with it now. Look at the F10, nice proportions and a nice, appropriate rear overhang whereas the new C class almost has no trunk. It's like someone crashed into it. It reminds me of the BMW Gran Turismo which is just VILE.

Mercedes styling was way better (for the time) during the W124, W220, W140 era. The W221 is sex too. The CLS C219 is just weird. It had potential but then they gave it proportions like it was exposed to radiation pre-birth.

I saw an E60 M5 a few days ago and it's aged WAY better than the W211. It looks like a new model, not a 10 year old one. It's incredible whereas the W211 aged. Maybe not the facelift but the pre-facelift is just hideous. I think the W211s facelift was Mercedes' most successful and changed the car the most. They took a turd and actually managed to polish it

I have always loved the look of the W211 and think it looks as amazing today as it did 10 years ago. There are few other mercedes I would rather drive. But when the prices come down enough, 2013+ e63 is my next amg.

Firstly, I will admit I've been gawking at every W212 I see over the past few days and can see what some of you are talking about with the side profile. It would do the car justice if the lines were cut a bit more aggressive & could use a better sideskirt. As far as the front end, I LOVE the new face and the new headlights. Mercedes is attempting to appeal its AMG line to a younger market and the new front end is sportier, more aggressive and certainly younger. The rear end isn't the most spectacular, but I have no real complaints. I think this car is a good Vorsteiner candidate.

oh, and the 2013+ e63 wagon is sex on wheels. i never, ever thought I would ever consider buying a wagon despite many wagons out there that I do like the look of very much, and yet somehow I'm now 50/50 between whether I would take the e63 wagon or the 4 door...

Also, you're telling me the W212 AMG isn't aggressive? Have you put a W211 AMG and a W212 AMG side by side? The W212 looks like it's on steroids compared to even the W211 E63. It's much bulkier and much sharper. It's an amazing car, very sexy and very sharp and for the first time a pre-facelift is sexier than the post-facelift. The new E63 facelift is nice but look at that pre-facelift front, so ****ing aggressive and sharp. That Weistec video can make any W211 fanboy, including myself , forget the W211 even existed.

I just can't see the aggressivess of the W212 AMGs . They look like regular W212s with better wheels and stance. That's it. And that's fine everyone is entitled to their opinion. Mid size AMGs were never meant to be aggressive. They're going after an older market with the E. The only merc I've liked since the W211 E63, first C63, first SL63 is the AMG GT-S. The rest look so boring they might have been on Paxil or they're bubbly and look like they we're doing shrooms. Sucks cuz the new engines are epic.

I bash Mercedes styling alot but let's face it. Mercedes is KING, BMW and Audis just don't compare. They just don't have that warm glow, that warm aura Mercs have. Especially Audi which is like a laboratory or morgue. BMW looks like depression, they give me the blues when I even look at them. So I disagree about them looking boring. I love them all, even the GL and the R and whatever new models are out (too many to remember now ).

+100 No AMG looks likes AMG. Doesn't stand out in the W212 at all. IMO.

I don't care for the W212 AMG sedans, but I saw a wagon a few weeks ago, and the entire design looked balanced in a way the sedan just isn't. I would jump into the wagon in a heartbeat.

Actually the differences are much more extensive in the W212. They changed the front quarter panels and made them wider. The front and rear bumpers and clearly very different and the side skirts are much different and more aggressive. The headlights are different too. The W211 is timeless though and it's very iconic. For me it's one of those cars that just come to mind when you think Mercedes.

I dunno. The F10 5-series has the looks. Too bad about the steering feel, or lack thereof, but it looks good. It easily beats the W212. And that is before Mercedes paniced and made it worse with a half-baken facelift, only applied to the front which looked cool before (at least the facelift fixed some of the interior).

F30 snout looks like a lizard holding a dogbone, sure.

The 6-series is cool, except the GC didn't come out as well as I would like, in person (looks good in pics).

I'm not sure I agree with what you are asking for which is essentially the beauty criteria for a baby (full and puffy without looking fat).

The 5 or 3 GT? The 3-series GT is actually a respectable car, especially since it's one of the few BMWs with real headroom and a large panorama roof, and both at the same time. It looks good for what it does. In fact one of the better looking F30 variants.

Both CLS look to me like unfinished designs.

Which is kinda cool in its own way. But not really if you want to zoom around in it for 3+ years.

The e60 was a risky design, and no car past it took similar risks. I think that helps it not looking dated.

But the E90 3-series is a terrible ager in the 4-door variant. It looks right like out of the 70ties. Luckily the coupe does a lot better.

i was waiting for the first poster to say the car in the video is pre-facelift lol. yes, i am aware it is pre-facelift. the internals & drivetrain are the same for that model yr as the 2013+, which is the only point of the video- the massive power potential of the v8 bi-turbo

how is this different from the W211? a same year E350 & E55 have very few differences in body styling. i think its safe to say, if all badges were removed & same amg rims are put on both, from a front or side view the majority of people wouldn't be able to tell them apart. we can spot it out at first glance because own an e55

The side skirts and bumper are all larger on the W211 AMGs vs the non-sport models. That's why they buy our parts to install on their cars. Is it subtle? Yes. But it stands out more than on the W212. But I would say they're both not aggressive.

Teach each their own, I like the E63s looks both pre and post facelift, but pre face lift a little better. However I love my 211 E55. Everyone will always have their own opinion so all with conflicting views will just have to agree to disagree lol . #TeamAMG

with cars, there are so many different tastes & styles, u have to just approach ppl's views on different cars or setups with an open mind and keep in mind that what a person's opinion on what is nice is just that- an opinion!
..with the exception of rice burners & modern american sport cars. cts, vettes & vipers aside
