'06 AMG - New To Me - State Inspection List
It seems like no matter how hard you look a car over, you always get a list from the Inspection station.
Of the various things on the list (window tint too dark on rear windows, stone chips to be repaired, valve cover oil leak, lower ball joint, etc) there are two that are concerning -
1) Note from the Tech that there is brake fluid leaking on the top of the ABS system. Before I dig in, has this been seen before?
2) Both Low Beam HID Headlights didn't have enough lumens to pass. Can this be as simple as replacing both bulbs or is there a ballast system or something more complicated.
Other than that, the car is gorgeous. If the weather didn't suck so bad right now with the cold, I'd use the bad valve cover gaskets as an excuse to get some parts of the off the engine and out to a powder coating place. I still may do that. I have 30 days to get the items corrected anyway.

Man that's crazy. We can run open headers or drive cars without the entire doghouse here in Indiana. Some scare me. It's crazy.

You must have bought the car out of state, because "Most used vehicles are required by Maryland Law to undergo a safety inspection prior to its sale or transfer. Generally, the seller or transferor of the vehicle is required to obtain the inspection certificate."
Items to be inspected in Md.:
Where the heck does "stone chips" fit in ??
Items to be inspected in Md.:
Code:
• Steering system • Wheel alignment • Suspension • Brake system • Wheels / tires • Fuel system • Exhaust system • Bumpers • Fenders • Lights • Electrical system • Mirrors • Glazing (windows) • Wipers • Hood / catches • Door handle latches • Floor / trunk pans • Speedometer / odometer • Driver seat • Safety belts • Motor mounts • Gear shift indicator • Universal and CV (constant velocity) joints • Emissions equipment

Still chasing the headlight issue in a new topic. Looks like oil leak is from the connections to the filter housing. In my last AMG, the O rings were bad between housing and cooler. This doesn't have that design but wondering if cause is similar - O rings for the cooler connections. I sprayed it all down yesterday. Going to see if I can see any fresh leaks.
