just having basic generic tires vs the supersports or the evo tires does it make a big difference for basic day to day travel or are those types of tires just meant for racing and such? any other enhancements those types of tires bring? thanks

Tires are very important. The car will ride like crap without them.

^ Just as he said, don't skimp on tires on these beasts. Preferably summer tires, low tread wear rating, grippy... haha not joking. Yea they won't last more than 8k miles, but they make a huge difference in putting the power down.
Throw an LSD on there like some of us here & you have a completely different car than stock, the car pulls like a bat out of hell.

My car has come with Sumitomo HTR Z3s and they're great. I live in the tropics so weather is always hot, but it buckets and buckets rain here daily and they're holding up a treat. I believe they are considerably than PSS. Low road noise and 8000km in and wearing well too.

There are four patches of rubber, each one the size of a postcard, connecting the car to the road. Probably not wise to skimp on tires on any car, but especially on a nearly 500 hp monster like an E55.
Thanks all, I'll post the tire brand I got on my car tomorrow to get your opinions if they are good quality tires or if I should buy new ones

^^ yep!! I just replaced tires that were severely worn and I couldn't believe how much smoother the car feels.

It's important. You don't have to buy top of the line but buy a good tire close to the top. That's if it's not that important. For most of us we have top 4 tires. I like going into corners hot and coming out at WOT. But that's just me....

Don't forget that though you may not have paid $85k for this car, it's still an $85k car and needs the right tires for your not only to get performance but to be safe with all that power
