I'm gonna guess you were told to run 245/35_20, because of the crappy roads in NY, which I've heard a few guys complain about here. With those and STAR lowering, I can completely see a blown fender.
you absolutely cannot have anything less than 35 in the front here in NY. after this winter the roads are worse than you can imagine.
you can't have a nice car here and enjoy it. 80% of my driving is in my truck- that or i can enjoy replacing rims, tires, ball bearings, and struts on a regular basis. & at least i don't have to check my bumpers to see what new scratches await me every time i park in the city/queens/brklyn - people can ram my tow hitch as they please...
to give you an idea, here's a video i recorded last month on the parkway by my house:
305/30/20 in the rear and this is the result. I refuse to go back down to a 25 tire due to ride quality a 30 made a huge difference. But as you can see it rubs under hard acceleration and big bumps, I'm lowered on links in the rear. I'm going to try and get the fenders rolled if that doesn't work then 295 it is sadly.
Those wheels look familiar
What offset did you go with? I'm running the 305s with a +42 offset. I did get the fenders rolled and I have no rubbing. Since I'm stupid, I might tempt fate and try to fit a 315 for my next set.
