First time at the strip with my E55
The 1/4 mile has finally opened again as we approach the end of the wet season in Darwin. I managed 9 runs over three hours, mostly due to a new R35 GTR bouncing off the walls and spinning around. Bad way to start a long weekend. First run was 12.509@111.83 1.957 60'. Then the following three were very much the same. One was a 13.6 as I didn't so a warm up burnout and tried to drive around the water, but they were spraying it everywhere. I can only imagine how peeved all the AWD guys must have felt. Final run was 12.468@112.34 1.934 60' with the weather recorded as 26c, 68% humidity and 1010hpa. I was doing a small burnout, if you could call it that, in comfort and raised, ESP off, in sport mode. The burnout was crappola, as it would spin, then bog as the nannies kicked it, then spin again before bogging for a good second then lighting up properly. I feel that was just heat soaking everything even more.
Anyhow, few of the more serious blokes were running .2-.3 off their dial ins all night, so they were telling me not to feel too bad. But hey, that's what I run and until I'm there again that's all speculation.

Should have ran in dyno mode and also should have ran every 60 min to cool down the car.
Also 26* Celsius isn't that cold either, go on a cooler night. Little things like that can lower your times. Enjoy bro!

From what I have read here dyno mode isn't optimal for launching. I was raising revs to around 1200 before applying the throttle. While I want to have a quick ET, I'm not interested in letting the car cool for an hour when the track is only open for 3 hours. Having a car that is only quick every 60 minutes isn't a quick car.

Well if you don't let it cool down your times won't really go down. Dyno mode will help with your burnouts. You should have lowered the psi on your tires or gotten drags to race.

I was opening the bonnet and pushing the car through staging rather than stop starting, so for the first few runs would have been 10-15mins of cooling. I'm looking into slicks, I was curious how the stock rubber would hold out. All in all a learning experience

Dyno mode didn't help me as I just wheel span.
My fastest times was in Drive, traction on, and just squeezing the throttle.
Oh and 26 deg C, probably is cold in Darwin !!

Nice runs! Running a supercharged car that often is boiling with heat soak and ecu is pulling timing like a madman because of all that heat. Let the car cool down more, like hulk said one run per hour. Ice down the supercharged between runs and watch your times drop significantly!

The track is open again in a fortnights' time so I'll do what I can do be there.
I'll give it a bit more time between runs, however I cant see the temp dropping below 25*c.
Hopefully a bit more pressure out of the tyres and cooler weather will see the times drop

When I raced I would always leave it on. If you hook it won't matter what u do, esc on or off, dyno mode. I don't have the best 60' but a 1.63 is not bad considering I've only launched it 5 times at the track since I modded her.

It is easier to take more air out than it is to put it back in.
My previous car had 19" rims, and one run at the strip the 'mag nut' stripped so I couldn't get the rims off. So instead of slicks I run my street tyres at 36psi. Still ran high 11s. Each tyre plays differently

As said above different tyres different pressure. A Steel belted radial will want more air, as the walls need rigidity.
Even a drag radial I would run around 25 psi.
