2005 E55

Help me decide please

I am torn between going with a 180mm crank pulley or a clutched 77mm supercharger pulley and BWK. Both seem to be similarly priced. Any experience with differences in reliability and performance would be appreciated?

clutched would be easier install & less rotating mass.

Clutched is safer, power should be almost the same.

Aftermarket pulleys have disintegrated, taking cooling parts with them.

The SC pulley is advertised here on the site at $695. I don't think a 180mm crank pulley is that affordable.

SC pulley is easier to replace/install.
SC pulley won't overdrive other components.
SC pulley offers less rotating mass.

So, as Heissrod implied, SC pulley with scattershield is your best option.

until you are stranded with exploded pulley,,, then add tow , repair , rental, hotel vacation,, blah, blah, blah,, scattershield for race car - yes,,,,,, scatershield for driver - wtf
