E63 Centric Rotors

Just curious if anyone has a lot of knowledge on Centric rotors and if so, would there be any benefit by using the E63 rotor as opposed to the E55 one. Seems like the rears are the same for both cars, only the fronts are different. I'm going to order some soon so I wanted to get some opinions between the two. Thanks.

The E55 rotor is 1-piece, the E63 rotor is 2-piece. The main advantage to the 2-piece is that it sheds heat faster. I don't know from experience, but I have read accounts of E55 owners who get brake fade after just a few laps when tracking their cars. Never heard of an E63 owner having that problem.

The only drawback... the E63 rotors are much more expensive. Somewhere around $1000 each from the dealer.

If you decide that you want two-piece rotors, check out GiroDisc.com in addition to Centric. They make the most affordable (to the best of my knowledge), and best looking two-piece rotor for W211 AMG applications.

I used the centric rotors on my e55. They are hard to beat for the price imo. The ones under performance on high end tab on rockauto. They come painted on the hats and a nice bed in machined finish. Nothing wrong with them.

I used the stoptech branded (centric) street performance pads for $100 bucks same thing they are fine. Bed them in hard with 10 hard stops and by the tenth stop they are really beginning to slow the car significantly faster.

The coefficient of friction is variable with temp and goes up with it and they are meant to be good to 700deg or so.

Again for the money these are hard to beat. Should be fine on track days aswell as long as your not crazy about it. My 10 stops were from 90mph-0 and the friction only noticeably changed on the 10th. Thats 10 one after the other and we all know this car can do that really quickly so I really doubt many tracks would be that harsh on them.

Also semi-rebuilt the front calipers seals and dust seals again from centric all seemed to fit fine and quality seems fine. Brakes work all good. Dirt cheap.

Thanks for the help fellas. I don't think I'm going anywhere near a track anytime soon so I went ahead and ordered the ones for the E55. I'm going to combine them with the Akebono brakes that I hear are really good. Hopefully it'll be a good combo!
