M113k Motor Build
My motor is now done and running so I wanted to share the process with some pics. Getting the parts etc took forever but I ended up using Weistec pistons, Carrillo rods, and Darton sleeves for the bottom end. Obviously all new bearings etc. Chris aka Sir Boost A Lot helped me put the short block together in a weekend that I flew in to Orlando. He also did a ported 90mm TB inlet for me that came out great a while ago!
New custom Carrillo rod:
Here is a pic of the new rods/pistons vs the OEM E55 ones
Rods/pistons being prepped to go in:
Installed:
All done and ready to drive back up to MD:
Assembled the rest at my friends garage
Some fresh powdercoated valve covers
Insertion pic
All in
I skipped a lot of stuff but this gives you a general idea of the process. Alot of work went into this whole build. E55amgrocket let me use his valve covers with an fittings welded to them for a breather system. The car has been driven around and the engine is now broken in. It was tuned yesterday by Jerry at Eurocharged. Now there's one thing left to do

Lol I don't control the pace other people work at. If I have the parts I get **** done. I've been giving you guys time to catch up (1 year as of today) I will run my car soon. Don't think I will do any big rentals until the fall, the last 3 all got rained out

Not sure.
lol
thanks!
Some people will never shut up.
Yea I have a clk55 which uses a different pan. I had to make a hybrid pump to fit the pan and the block
Thanks! We will see if it was worth the wait after it sees the track
Hahaha yea but this is the last transplant. No more used monkey hearts, pulled this one straight out of robocop
lol
thanks!

Looks good, What is the desired hp level 700 WHP?

That looks really really good! A lot of work in that. How did you handle the balance? The pistons and rods can't weigh the same as stock, and the wrist pins definitely look lighter.

Thanks. Don't really care about dyno numbers.
Thanks! Chris handled all the balancing and machining etc. The rods are heavier than stock but the pistons are lighter so they about equal out.

Thanks! Need to find some time to get to the track. There's almost always some bugs to figure it out the first time out
Lol we should start a pool. 10.20 would still be good enough for the quickest 55 right now

wow. very nice looking build. I still love these motors. we had a big build once before but could not get the sleeve's to work. I think the darton sleeve is the best route. will be watching this car closely.
