BIP 77 Fixed pulley initial impressions
Hey guys,
For those that saw my auxiliary HE thread you know I was in bad need of a pulley bearing and rather than spend money to fix a stock part I decided to pull the trigger on the FSP. I spent a good bit of time trying to decide between tuners to work with as I was going with a box tune in the beginning and everyone around seems to have different opinions as to who is the best. As this car is my daily driver, reliability was one of my main concerns as well as customer support.
Long story short, I ended up going with B.I.P. and I would like to start by saying Big Thanks to Craig and Tony. My expectations for customer support have been met and after just finishing up my first test drive I'm very happy with the results.
Some things I noticed:
-I havent noticed belt slip... yet. (Craig recommended a 100mm idler pulley to help combat this as an alternative to the bet wrap kit but after trying to install the one I purchased for a Cobra I realized its a little too big and barely touches the tensioner bolt... maybe the one Craig has will fit)(I think I will be doing some grinding later to my tensioner bolt to make it fit but I know this is not something most will want to do)
-The air intake temps definitly go up and cooling is a must. I'm now positive I will have to add another auxiliary HE.
-The mystery FSP noise at idle is barely noticeable... definitely quieter than the stock pulley with a bad bearing lol
-the slight whine at low speed/low throttle input sounds bad-***
So after about an hour dedicated to figuring out the tuning software I spent about two hours removing the old pulley and installing the new one. On a scale of 1-10 this was about a 2 for difficulty other than removing the main bolt on the supercharger pulley. That was difficult but only due to me having to use hand tools only.
The only thing I'm worried about at this point and what I'd like to mention to others to watch out for is the two small dowel pins that line up the pulley... they snapped off when I broke loose the bolt. I'm not sure how this will affect anything at this point but I'll be keeping an eye on it.
I'll update more later after more but right now I'm very happy with the results.
Thanks B.I.P.

I am still juggling over the 77mm clutched or clutchless, tune will definately be from BIP
I hope your data logging everytime you drive
Their tune does not require the resistor does it
** Also in Star SDS when performing the Supercharger Clutch test there is a message saying that there will be noise from the Supercharger Gear Assembly when engaged at low RPM due to Backlash, this is the noise that is heard

Mine are bent, and I was conerned they will eventualy break. Can they be replaced?
I've seen lots of pictures of pulley instals and it looks like almost all of them have bent dowel pins.

Thanks Craig
Correct, no mods other than cooling... just added another auxiliary HE about an hour ago.
I'm definitely going to need a belt wrap kit but for right now I'm still having a ton of fun with the new way the car drives.
No resistor required

It is quite something what that fixed pulley does for the car. You'll really get a feel for how long that millisecond lag actually is.
the part throttle response is nothing short of addictive.

I've had the fixed pulley 77mm for months now and no issues at all. I will never go back to cluched unless something major would go wrong. The guys at BIP are awsome. when I first installed had a limp mode issue and Tony took care of it asap and dialed it in perfect. took it to track last November. and this was my result.

It died on me and I've been unable to turn the car back on for an entire month, taking it today to have ECU reflashed again in hopes that it allows the motor to start.
