E55 AMG
That sounds about right, 15-20F above ambient while cruising. I have the same flow routing as Denroll, as I want iced down fluid to hit the intercooler first then thru the HE after the IC then back to the tank to hit the ice again.

Glad you found the issue, you might want to flush it again in a few weeks just to get any stragglers.

yea that's a good Idea. I would say my temps have dropped 10-15 deg now comparing to old set up and the main thing now is the car cools back down after stepping on it where the other set up once warmed up it could be as much as 33 deg over ambient.

I logged two other e55's one has no split and it was way cooler then my car.
At cruise speeds under 100 KPH (62 MPH) and with the S/C disengaged, the I/C pump shuts off after a preset time. A tap of the throttle to engage the S/C will turn on the I/C pump.

no drain valves on tank. cruising temps yesterday after start up were 6-7 deg over ambient it was 70deg out. after 15 min drive letting it sit for a half hour they were about 9-12 deg over ambient even after stepping on it.

I switched to straight water for the summer and temps are about the same as yours now, between 8-15 over ambient. Amazing how much better water is at transferring heat than anti-freeze. You may want to consider adding a drain to the tank, it really helps if you take it to the track.

Where and how have you added a valve to drain? I need to do it to mine.

The tank I purchased from Dad's had a fitting in it so I could attach a drain valve. Valve screws into fitting then has a 90* tube that exits the floor pan in the spare tire well. I have enough room to shove a milk jug underneath and empty the anti-freeze into it then dump into buckets. Or just attach a hose to it and run to a receptacle.
