How to know when to replace front brake pads and rotors?
I was told my front brake pads and rotors will need changing soon, I was wondering what things would be experienced while driving on the E55 that would tell me that the front brake pads/rotors need replacing?
squeaking noise when braking? increased brake time? Anything else?
thanks all

hey thanks, i havent received any brake warning on the dash as of yet, I should not worry about it until I see that on the instrument cluster? Are there any signs of worn done brake pads while I am actually doing my day to day driving? I do notice squaking a lot when I am brakeing

squeaking has nothing to do with how worn they are, unless aftermarket pads with squealers were put on. Most likely it is either the pad material used (if there are aftermarket on there now) or that anti squeak paste wasn't used when they were installed. Wait for the sensor to tell you when the pads are done. There is going to be no performance difference until then. As swatty says, you will then need to have the rotors checked for thickness to see if they can be machined down or if they need replaced. Luckily they aren't nearly as expensive as you would think. The front rotors are about $125 each and the rears about $85 each.
