Windshield weakness?
So I went to rinse the car off the other day before taking it to dinner, it was like 82 outside...long story short as soon as the water hit the top of the windshield I hear a pop and see a nice 8" crack right down the center of the rain sensor area. I'm getting a new windshield on Thursday, but never experienced such a weak windshield before. Has this happened to anyone else? I've washed my car in the summer multiple times before and never had an issue, maybe there was a weakness there that the cold water exploited, I dunno...

The sad part is I won't have my AMG private lounge sticker on the windshield anymore

There was a stress crack there already from a rock impact. The cold water on the hot glass just completed the cycle and "POP".

I haven't had an issue with the E55 yet, but I did replace three windshields on my C32.

That is weird. I do know that mine has picked up more rock chips in the past 3 years than all of my other cars combined. All 13 of them.

I picked up a few chips while out in AZ as well! I'm guessing one of those chips started where the windshield cracked, but geez!
