82mm throttle body

82mm throttle body
About to put on a 82mm throttle body on..... have done alot of research and the term "hiccup" always popped up. Before I do this...if I ever can get my brakes bled correctly, any tips some one can give that has done this and what gremlins may pop up? Thanks

Pin swap is not the issue with the hiccup as some with an MB tb have the hiccups. I believe it's related more towards an ecu issue and hard to know if you will have an issue until it goes on and try it

This is correct. I had the hiccup issue when using the Audi 82mm tb. I switched to an OEM tb and that didn't resolve the problem. The car would go into hiccup mode virtually every time I drove it. Last year Jerry helped get the tune right on my car. Since then the issue has manifested only once.

after the blower is off the car you will literally have to pry the inter cooler from the blower due to the sealant used.
bypass valve and TB connectors look the same be sure to make them prior to removal.
mark the correct orientation of the IC hoses coming off the SC. You cannot align them once the blower is back on the car
use small amount of sealant to hold the blower to head gaskets in place, they will move when you go to put the blower black on
all vacuum lines will be brittle be prepared to break some

There were people some years ago. It was like 25whp IIRC depending on other tunes that the car has already.

tuning differences and an 80mm TB moved the rating on SL55's in 07-08 to 519hp from 493hp in prior years. The 82mm TB is twice the upgrade an 80mm TB is too.

It's all in the tune. The hiccup or p0106 codes from the 82tb, assuming no vacuum leaks, can all be resolved via ECU tune from your tuner.

Decided to not do it. The last thing I want is a perfectly good running car and then to have issues that I brought on my self. My buddy has been dealing with it for a couple months and a few tunes and it is still not perfect.I will find that gain in power some where else.

C55sleep what you had is not the hiccup that the 82mm tb guys have gotten. If it was you would have gotten a cel light for map code and at idle would have been shaking because it would have been really lean and would have needed a key cycle to fix it.

So what did I have? ****ty tuning? At least it's gone now lol

I mentioned that cause that's how it felt like. Previous owner told me he had a shop replace the throttle body and hadn't been retuned. After getting the car I found that the y-pipe was just thrown on there and thought that was the problem. Fixed that issue got it retuned and it was still there. Well, I guess all that matters is that it's gone! Lol! Wonder what it was that BIP was able to fix..
