The factory Airmatic was removed and replaced with an Airlift Performance aftermarket air suspension kit (modified Chrysler 300 kit). Stock will not let out anywhere near this low, and even the aftermarket air would not either, particularly on a 4Matic. There was definitely a little cutting involved

Did you do it or have it done?
Any pics of the install process? I would love to see them!
Did you have to roll the fenders at all or did they tuck that well stock?
Btw Looooove it!

Nice. I love this kind of swaps. Please post more detail of your project as you go along. Especially when it comes to wiring and computers for the 55 engine to the wagon.
Pics and descriptions always helps for future projects.

I'll be keeping a very interested eye on this thread. If I could have the power of my E55, but with my E500 wagon's traction, I'd be a VERY happy man.

1999 C43 AMG, 2005 E55 Wagon
but if people can start basically building their own 211 wagons with 55 motors that will help get more people into wagons. I'm all for it. A lot of us want a wagon but A: can't find one or B: can't afford one when it pops up. An E500 wagon is like $3500 right now, so if swapping isn't hard, then HELL YES go for it

Wow! This is exactly what I was looking for. I was asking questions about this in another thread, glad to see someone is doing it before me. I look forward to seeing the progress and whether the 4matic can take the additional torque.

W209, E46 M3 (dead), S54 swapped E46 Touring
a buddy recently completed the swap and ironing out small details but it’s been running like a champ so far. He doesn’t have an mbworld account so I’m posting the video up for him.

Can you give us tip on what module did you end up using from the donor car?
Did you reprogram the 500 ECU or use a 55 one? if you used the 55 I guess you did a whole swap of EIS, etc.. ?
