plastic pieces on roof fading.

Does anyone know any diy fixes for this problem or am I stuck going to the stealership?

It looks like its just the clear coat wearing off.

I'm guessing I'll have to repaint the clear coat. I am wondering if I sand it off will I also need to repaint the silver, or will it survive the sanding?

Also will 1000 grit sand paper work or something else?

tape everything off surrounding area , get some polishing (not rubbing) compound and a buffer wheel of some type if that does not work then go for the running compound--

Take them off the car ---- then take them to a paint specialist any will likely do, and have them repaint them to factory color, then your done. Might cost you $100 if that. No worries. You could wet sand with automotive 3k disc and see if it will smooth the clear out. Likely wont, to etched for that and will still show. Maybe peruse Ebay or somewhere and get replacement parts for them off a wrecked car same color as yours. 1k grit will take off the paint.

Thanks for the help you two. I'll go to a shop. Seems like it's really easy to mess up the paint if you're not careful. I'd rather not screw it up!
