.5" narrower wheels on a W211 E63 handling impact

Hi Folks,

I have an opportunity to buy some AMG Style IV wheels in size 18x8 ET31 and 18x9 ET35. These dimensions are 0.5" smaller than the stock W211 E63 wheels, which has me concerned from a performance perspective.

If I were to get tires in stock sizes (245/40R18 & 265/35R18) for these wheels, will there be a meaningful impact on the performance of the vehicle? I am specifically referring to possible traction or handling issues, due to a smaller contact patch.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers

You will NEVER notice the difference my friend on the street.

If you plan on Road racing, yes they would allow too much tire roll over and your lap times would suffer a little.

For street, if they look good to you, letem roll

I would also consider the offset to make sure they don't appear too narrow in the wheel opening
