Now that I am certain that this wasn't a mistake, what hotel in the area are you guys staying? I checked the poconoraceway website and was boggled with the number of hotels in the area due to the high traffic during the NASCAR races and skiing season. Many small towns near the raceway and have no idea which is most convenient.

Just spoke to AMG Challenge - seems that each time slot has it's own waiting list, so being 5th or 10th doesn't necessarily add up ... I hate waiting.

HAH!!! Yeah right! I received my 'invitation' with reservation code YESTERDAY when the events have been sold out for weeks.
Still hoping that the computer works its way down to my waiting list spot

Alternatives?
Anyone ever try the Evolution driving schools? The local Boston BMW club is hosting the event, but open to all:

2d of class is half the cost of the AMG event, but you use your own car...
Trying to decide if the Evolution courses (1 & 2) are a good alternative to 7 hour drive to Pocono for the MB event...
Thanks!

Hotel near Pocono raceway
So, has anyone going to the event at Pocono Raceway decided on a hotel?
If anyone has a recommendation (aside from the rooms at the Caesar's resorts with the champagne glass bathtubs!!), please let me know.
Thanks, and hope to see you there!

Yes, if anyone has hotel recommendations that would be great. I know there are a few small towns near the Pocono raceway and really have no idea which one is closest. I would prefer a hotel fairly close to the track, but that isn't a must. The Pocono raceway has a website that has access to some hotel websites but it left me confused as I didn't have a map of Pennsylvania handy to check distances.

If I ever get off the waiting list I'm planning to stay at my brother-in-laws place near Big Bass Lake. I'd be happy to ask him for hotel recommendations (whether I get to go or not).
