A CEL just popped up and I can hear what sounds like a hole somewhere in the exhaust. My mechanic told me its time for headers. I always wanted to but was always happy with the car as is.

My only problem is with the Eurocharged mufflers and cat/res delete it's just way too loud. Adding headers to the equation surpasses obnoxious. My car has 64,000 miles on it. Is this even common?

Also I'm going to need some mufflers that are much more quiet. Anyway have any ideas where I can get a set?

 

Look into PLM shorty headers. About $900 or so, completely bolt on, and they make good power (not as much power as long tubes though). As far as I can tell, noise level is the same as stock.

You could install long tubes, and weld them up to the stock resonator. That shouldn't be too loud, as the only change is removal of primary cats
