Question about Boost Pressure.

Early this morning, coming back from work. I wanted to see what my boost pressure will be. Stepped on it on "Sport Mode," and read 12.7 psi. I changed to "M Mode," and stepped on it again and registered 13.4 psi. So my questions are these,

1. What is the expected boost psi for a 77 clutched pulley?
2. Why did I see a spike in boost psi when I switched to "M Mode?''
3. Will any of my listed mods have any effect on the boost psi?

I also noticed that the intake temp was <90 deg the entire time. Temp was 71 deg outside.

14.4 peak boost --- your high flow cat and headers will put less back pressure ,so a bit less boost

What gear was the pull? 3rd gear on the street is the real boost

Yes, on third gear on the street with the manual mode. I'm assuming the S mode will downshift to third gear as well. I was doing about ~60 mph at the time. Does temp. have any effect on boost level as well?

At 60mph the auto trans especially in S mode will not be in 3rd gear, most probably 2nd gear.

Start a 3rd gear pull at around 75 and pull to redline, also how are you monitoring? Obd or boost sensor?

I'm using the OBD 2 adapter along with the Torque pro. I tried to do a 3rd gear pull as you said, but didn't have enough room to reach redline. Started at around 75 mph up to about 120 mph. Peak boost was 13.7 and went down to low 13's. IAT after the run was 116. Started of with IAT of 96 deg.

All these mods and no real logging. Good luck with that.

maybe had belt slip first run, second time it didnt? Dont think changing modes affects boost. Do you have a belt wrap with that 77?

Sounds right with your mods, headers are lowering boost which is normal. Boost is just a measure of restriction. Btw the more parameters are being monitored through the obd the slower the refresh rate , max 2 parameters.

Ok, was looking at your sig and says long tubes...

Use the obd for only boost and see what it says do a 3rd gear pull to ~6300 rpm..

Just came back from the track. I noticed my IAT was 112 before the first run, and 120 before the 2nd run. Leaving the track and cruising down the road the IAT dropped down to 91. I guess the split cooling is not getting the job done. Any recommended cooling system besides trunk setup? I hate giving up the trunk space.

I only know of FTP with the engine bay tank, but my experience with them shipping items in a timely manner is not good. I was looking at BIP Killer chiller, do they mount those at the trunk, too?

Killer chiller is made by Kincaid performance. You will still need a tank with the chiller.

Dads offers the engine bay tank, in fact they make them for FTP. Contact Joe at Kincaid performance he will set you up if you want to go with the chiller also

I sent Donny an email yesterday, and he usually responds within 24 hours, but nothing yet. Very odd to hear these things about Dad's.
