They probably lost more business now because of this rather than gain. The community that owns these cars can afford the $50. It's not about the 50.

I don't remember ever seeing this offered for $499 until the group buy for $449 was under way. It was always much higher. Its kinda funny how after a week or two of group buy interest, they offer it for $50 above the proposed group buy price, then come up with single invoice BS. I'll pick one up from CVS or Wallmart in a few weeks for $49 when I grab a blue ray player that retailed for $599 few years ago that sell for $29 now. Obviously that won't happen, but it will be like trying to sell blank VCR tapes soon enough.
