Beautiful car, Rave. I guess now you don't have to deal with things like 'caliper paint,' right?

I tried, but the car too hot right now. The entire Modena/Gallardo/Ford GT etc. market has me pissed. Are they so worried that if they actually met demand for the handful of people that could afford these cars, that no one would want them any more? In my business, I look to generate every dollar I can and believe me, I am not blind to the exclusivity thing. I virtually never see other 996 Turbos on the road or E55s for that matter. But at least theeres cars are attainable. The E55 market has eased up. Anyone can order one in less than 6 months at worst. The 18 month wait times I was quoted on the Gallardo made me lose interest and I won't pay $15k over sticker for principal. Could have been fun!

I tested the e-gear today, stick shift last week and am getting the car that was used by Motor magazine for their "performance car of the year" tests, next week for the day.
Stephens, I drove the e-gear at Calder in November, but only 2 laps, so I'm interested in your impressions. Are Gallardos selling in Melbourne do you know? (I'm in Adelaide) Being a new model, it is hard to know if it will be a winner, but it sure looks like one!

jkrutch, I hear you. You will be interested to know in Australia at least, you can have a choice of color Gallardo and have it next week.

Yes
There are two black and one silver Gallardo's available for delivery now.
I found the manual change very notchy, which is why I am using the test car, which has 1500kms on it, to see if the shift has loosend up a little with use.The e-gear is ok, but I don't know what the fuss is about. Without the clutch, it is no different than driving the Benz in manual mode, so I would really like the manual to be OK. The only thing I have to go on from a sales perspective is the salesguy and I don't think his opinion can be trusted.

I love the 6 speed...I wish MB would at least offer us the choice.
Mine does lower like the stock wing.

On a GT2 it is, but rave's wing has the big stainless pistons like the 996 turbo wing....that's why I asked the question. The bottom portion of rave's wing appears stock with a GT2 style upper section...pretty cool. Rave...please show a pic of the wing retracted...I'm curious to see how it looks that way as well.

This is an X50 6spd, but over about 60, the E55 is quicker.
