Timing

Just did some more testing and these are my numbers at 6000rpm. Timing is at 15*, IAT is at 105* and boost is at 13.0psi. My timing I thought was higher but now that I have taken screen shots under power I see that it is not now. Can these engines handle more timing at full boost and what do you guys run? Seems a little low to me.

Right now just a simple obd connection to an I-pad. I do have a fuel pressure and AFR that logs but thats it. AFR is also at 10.8 at 6,500rpm. Bidding on a dashdaq right now so hopefully will have that soon.
Hulk those numbers I sent you in the pm where off on the timing by 8-10 degrees.

Ya, the obd is only good for 2 parameters max, it's slow refresh rate. Get the dashdaq with the zt2 with the boost sensor and have the best thing to log.

Only 2 parameters from obd with dashdaq

Iats
Timing

Rest goes through the zt2

So what is a good timing number to see on 12- 13 lbs boost and 93 octane fuel that is safe with these engines?

It depends
You have to see of there's any retard, with your logging you can't see that at this time.
If the tune is calling for 18* but you see 14 or 15 doesn't mean it didn't hit 18* at one point that's where the logging will show you if there's dips in timing and you know if there's knock

He mentioned his IATs were at 105°. At that temperature, your computer is pulling 3.5° of timing due to heat so you're probably fine at 15. Stock cars hit 20-21 raw, before any timing retard

Not nesseceraily , if the car has a tune, tuners usually bump that timing iat alittle bit. Ask your tuner what timing he's demanding

Correct, I have observed this personally with regards to IAT/timing relation and the variable being altered by a tuner.

Now whether or not the tuner will tell you what timing they are commanding....

I've had a hard enough time prying commanded AFR out of a certain someone let alone timing...if only we could tune these cars ourselves.
