W211 AMG 2005 Transmission Shifting issue
Please help me out here, I have read MULTIPLE threads on this and i have read things from, it is a Throttle positon sensor, to it is the pedal sensor, to it is the transmission etc.....
Because it was mentioned in one thread about a TPS, this car DOES have a modified throttle body and a very extensive list of upgrades. It was one of the cars that hit 10.39 last year in Miami. I originally just wanted some Vossen CV3s but somehow ended up with another Mercedes. Impulse buy. I just dont know where to begin when trouble shooting.
Basically this just started yesterday evening, I am at 55k and I have been babying this car so I am a little shocked that this randomly happened. When sitting in traffic I started to accelerate and it felt as if the car popped out of gear and the RPMs started to rise?? I let off and realzed that it was coming out what felt as second gear and wouldn't change. (max speed i could obtain was about 40 mph). I let off the gas and it felt as if the car found its gear when the RPMS dropped and shifted.
This AM i was able to go from 1st to 5th no problem at all for a 10 minute ride. Sat in line to drop my son off at school, car wouldnt come out of second gear when i left the school, even at one point it was like the car couldn't even land a gear. I turned off the car and luckily once in gear the issue was gone again.
I dont see how it can be a mechanical issue. Seems like maybe a sensor of that sort. Like i mentioned i reviewed MANY threads and no one really provides a definite solution and the one i did discovered literally look his transmission apart trying to solve it. His car would never exceed third.
Has anyone has this problem, can you PLEASE provide a step to step list of things to check before I start buying parts and spending money?

Hey Shardul, saw you sprinkled through the other post, I will pull the carpet back to check that first. Might do it on my lunch break.
