Is it against forum rules to post a link to an iso of the 2015 N. America nav disc?
Last night on a whim I decided to see if the 2015 ntg1 North America map disc was available on eBay. I saw this listing:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2015-Mercedes-Benz-Comand-North-America-NTG1-DVD-V14-0-Navigation-Update-/181855701569?hash=item2a5771ca41&vxp=mtr
I then wanted to see how much other vendors were selling it for (using part number as search criteria) when I happened upon a google drive-hosted iso image. I burned a copy last night (use ImgBurn, set book type to DVD-ROM, and 4x speed on a Verbatim +R DL DVD like I always do) and it works like a charm.
Note that even though the disc is labeled as 2015, the actual update occurred around September 2013 . As a reference, the 2014 maps were updated in March 2013. The fact that the MSRP for these discs are $249 + tax is outright highway robbery and I know some folks who have bought off eBay thinking that the discs were original were actually counterfeit.
Anyways, I don't know what the forum rules are for things like this so I'd thought I'd ask. Otherwise, apologies in advance.

Last time I tried to use burned map disc my GPS stopped satellite tracking. OEM disc back in and boom.... 8-9 satellites almost immediately. I will try again though.

I did that once and the message got deleted and I got some kind of warning. Seems to be hit or miss. I think it had been mentioned in a previous thread. In other forums on a different site it's talked about and the link exists. I believe for 2009, you need the original disk, but it downloads to the HD so once that's done, you can just sell the original disk to someone else and the cycle can repeat.
As for burning a bad disk, the standard reasons apply, use a lower speed and don't have too much running when burning it and use the right kind of DVD, some are better than others.

If folks are interested in the "2016" release, go to
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/w211...l#post13535857
and act accordingly. The update was done on December 2014. At least the update is more significant than 2014->2015.
Not sure how people can sell a counterfeit off eBay like
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mercedes-W21...-/172150162825
Please don't entertain that route. Be kind - rewind.
