my new brakes - Girodisc - impressions
after doing alot of reading and talking to a few shops and vendors i settled on getting the 2 piece Girodisc rotors all around for the wagon. After a couple of hundred miles they are amazing - so smooth, grab great, and look so pretty when you come up on them
if you are considering OEM, RB, or Girodisc i would def recommend the Girodisc - completely satisfied - and when they need replacement by the next owner all you replace is the rotor ring not the whole set up
After install still saved $600 over the stock set up -

Hopefully not as bad as this guy. RB wouldn't answer my questions about how they have improved there rotors so this doesn't happen or why there warranty doesn't cover the rotors if you race your car. "Racing" brake

I'm having a full set of Girodisc rotors fitted on Friday. Ill report back next week. They ended up a VERY expensive option by time I got them shipped to AUS with shipping costs, import duty, tax etc.

Brakes/Rotors are for 08 E63 Wagon - Dealer quoted me $3,300 installed.
my signature pic is from my 55, but i sold that back in December once the wife's GL arrived.
Pricing through www.girodisc.com came to $2100 +$96 for pads - local shop charged me $600 but had them look a few other lil things while they were in there
So still saved $500 (thought it was $600 orig) and i feel got a much better product and they look so pretty - did i mention that?
Front rotors are approx 23.6lbs vs. 34.5lbs for the stock units.
Rear rotors are approx 14.4lbs vs. 22.5lbs for the stock units.

My costs were $2100 for the rotors
$350 in freight
$350 in duty & tax
$350 pads
And then what ever it cost tomorrow to have them fitted...
Those prices are in USD
By time they are fitted should come in at around a cool $5k AUD

That is crazy to me. I would have the picture every where if they did not give me every single penny back and have BBB up their ***. That is a major safety hazard. Period.

Per rotor, or total?
