Benefit of HID fogs on the E55
I purchased a E55 and apparently the previous owner installed HID fogs on it and the passenger side fog isnt working anymore.
1) do you think it is just a dead bulb or could it be something more serious?
2) what exactly is the benefit of having HID for the fogs? does this allow you to have it on at all times or does it blind the other drivers in daytime/nighttime? my fogs automatically turn on with the other lights
thanks all

1. try swapping the bulbs if the problem follows the bulb then..... if not it might be the ballast
2. They are brighter than halogens but unless they are aimed low they will blind other drivers.

It's low enough that it shouldn't be blinding oncoming. As illest mentioned, try swapping bulbs to see if the issue follows the bulb or stays on the location.
