Can it be really this hot in Austin?????
I think I need a new sensor....It was a hot day though!

Just make sure the sensor is in its place in the bumper grill and it didn't fall out and is touching the oil cooler. When they go bad or are disconnected they defalt to, if I remember correctly, 186F.

What @stockC43 said. Most likely has come out of the holder and is getting exposed to engine heat.
