sc inlet


Does anyone know what this is for or if its needed for anything? Black piece on bottom left corner. hope I didnt make a boo boo. Im in the proses of boring out for 82mm TB and my welder took this piece of and welded it shut.

It's for the PCV system. You can run the hoses venting into the atmosphere, but they will be sharting oil out.

I ran mine for a while with that port closed off. Idle wasn't as smooth, but it ran just fine. I'm no expert on this system, though.

2003 W211 E55, 2003 W220 S600
the port you closed off is a vacuum source. Since the E55 has SBC you really dont need it. On the CL55 that is connected to the brake booster.

True, it is also used on the S55.
