Noob question; it normal to smell oil after hard driving?

I do alittle sometimes if I have air off. My valve cover gaskets are seeping alittle.

Depends where you smell the oil coming from. Is it form the engine bay or do you see any grayish blue smoke from the exhaust? Or any oily residue on the rear bumper?

It could just be some weapage from some gasket or seals in your engine bay.

Valve cover gaskets leaking oil, then drips on headers. The cabin air intake is right there in the engine bay and it sucks it up like a fart in a fan.

i smell oil after a hard pull sometimes too. I noticed a small amount of oil on bank1 valve cover gasket so i'm guessing it's causing the smell.

As Denroll said, typical all Mercers is a simple fix.
but might be others like looking for a needle in the haystack unless you can visible see the oil spill then that's where the problem is

(why is good to always have nice clean engine, buy clean I mean no old muddy oil, dirt ect)
