My E55 about 14mpg and CLS 12MPG but mostly city drive. W210 E55 I get 16MPG in city.

That might be the speed limit, but what does your car say it's average is. It is usually far lower than the limit.

Stop start will ruin your economy. I drive hwy with only two or three stops at lights and I average 14L/100 which is 16.8mpg and average only 44km/h or 28mph.

Drive in sport or manual mode and slowly press the accelerator as you take off from stop lights and stop signs and shift before 3k rpms so that you don't engage the supercharger. You're welcome!

i do have quite a bit of start and stop maybe thats why my fuel economy sucks, if i drive mixture of highway and city i get about 15mpg

I don't know but I will tell you what.....I bash on these"my" engine all the time for making all kinds of noises but a factory engine just sitting there at 6,000rpm cruising down the highway at 200mph......who else can brag about that with there car and that it stayed together than took the wife out to dinner!!!!

This seems very high to me. in both the sl55 and e55 I never got above 20mpg after a 100mi trip unless it was downhill.

I've averaged 15.4mpg in both cars.

make sure you are running 91 octane or better. also if you switch it over to metric, the numbers look better

I get 17-18 mpg average in my 55...of course that's on the highway, but it is Atlanta stop and go traffic. And I don't abuse it, but I don't baby it either.

gentle driving, 12 miles normal commute 50/50 city/hwy i can get 16-17mpg. Straight city driving stop and go is like pouring gas out the tailpipe in the 11-12mpg region.
