ventilated seats vs. standard

ventilated seats vs. standard
I wondered if the heated seats only were any firmer than those with ventilation?. It seems as if there must be some decrease in padding through which to allow the fans to suck the air.
Would you think the standard e500 seats would be the same as the ones' AMG would put in the e55?

The ventilated seats are put together completely different compared to the non ventilated seats....the top layer underneath the seat upholstery is made of a different material that has a very open structure to let the air go through...that material sits the same as the non ventilated seats though...

I have non-ventilated seats in my E55 and they feel firm. Since I have never sat in another E55 I cannot comment on ventilated vs non-ventilated firmness. The ventilated/active seats just seemed like another gimmick that could potentially be a mechanical issue in a couple years. If they are working properly, I bet they are great.
