OEM E63/E55 Chrome Exhaust Tips

Where can you buy OEM chrome E63/E55 exhaust tips, not the muffler, just the tips and OEM, not those ugly eBay ones. It doesn't have to be OEM but has to look like OEM. I have looked but couldn't find and I'm curious how people build custom exhausts then, do they just have to use their old tips because old tips can also be damaged beyond repair.

Unfortunately, the tips can't be bought separately anywhere. Unless someone out there has a different answer, I personally wasn't able to find them back in 2008. I've searched everywhere, called different dealers, etc.

Back when I had my W208 and I was doing my custom quad exhaust, these were the exact tips I found and ended up using. They were the closest thing to OEM. At the time, I randomly came across them at some JDM shop in Southern California.

This was how my car looked...

I've also met some guy last summer at my friend's muffler shop who had a W211 E350 and built a custom quad exhaust. This was what he used...

My muffler buddy opened up the inlet because they were a bit too small. After proper fitting, they turned out fairly nice.

That's so weird, that nobody makes them, even replica form. How are custom exhausts made then? Do they have to cut the stock tips and reuse?

Agreed. You'd think that will companies out there will want to re-produced the OEM look. But during the time that I was getting my custom quad exhaust work done, a specific muffler manufacturer explained that the tips can be replicated. However the "AMG" logo would be the costly piece. Etching (in general) isn't cheap. In other words, for a company to make money, they'd probably have to sell the tips for over $80+ each just to break even. Chrome tip + etching.

My personal suggestion if you really want OEM tips, grab an OEM set of mufflers and ask a chrome shop if they can re-finish the outside. Just a thought.
