I put a cigarette lighter socket at the rear bumper and wired it to the battery. Real easy to get to and plug in the charger when the car is sitting. Now I do not have to open the trunk to do it any more.

I have always plugged my cars in through the cigarette lighter with a trickle charger and have never had any issues. Today I went to plug the same trickle charger into the 12v outlet in the front ashtray area and the charger just blinked saying it wasn't connected. Is there a better 12v source for this car or does it need to be direct wired to the battery?
If it's direct wired to the battery in the rear, is it also charging the 14BS AUX battery under the hood?

I use these on my motorcycle, they work great, should work for the car too.
ctek charger for the rear battery. then would also rotate to do the front if you park it during the winter. I drive it at least once a week weather permitting not being salty, snow/ice.
