MBH or American Racing

Thinking about switching from my Kleeman Mid length's with my new build.
Any major difference between MBH or American Racing headers? Which would you choose?
Any group buys or sales on either?
Thanks

There are major differences between the two brands. Kleemann are actually short tube headers, for clarification.

MBH: Mid length (collector in the verticle), 1.75" primaries, 321 S/S header flange ($$), 304 S/S pipes, merge collectors with scavenging spikes. Tried and true gains.

ARH: Full length (collector under car, slightly less ground clearance) 1 7/8" primaries, 304 S/S pipes & flange, merge collectors w/ scavenging spikes.

Thank you. Really don't have a lot of clearance now. So if I switch I guess MBH's

ARH's hang down a bit. I am pretty low and I have learned to drop the front over speed bumps very slowly other wise I catch the merge collector. I love the sound and power gains. I bought mine off a car that burned to the ground soooo I guess the quality is great since they didn't warp!

I think kleemans or EC mids are really more mid than shorties because they have a merge collector while PLM or VRP are actually shorties

Kleemans are mid length headers and they flat out work. I don't think the gain between the kleemans and MBH or ARH long tubes are very much at all. Torque might be a little better with the long tubes though. I made over 600hp and ran mid 10's with the kleemans.

My pleasure. The Kleeman shorties also have smaller primaries, at 1 5/8". Having driven all three setups, they do seem to have better throttle response when the blower clutch is disengaged. Which is probably not a concern...especially if you don't have a clutch LOL.
