i dropped $4k past month or so.
Rear main seal
valve cover gaskets
tranny gasket and fresh fluid
tranny oil pump
tranny conductor plate
tranny wire connector
coilovers to replace 2 blown/leaking shocks/airbag
engine oil/filter change
rear diff oil change
2 rear lcas for coilover to fit
alignment after coilovers
SBC pump and accumulator replaced
fresh brake fluid
biggest overhaul i had to do in the past 5 yrs. And still have an oil seepage in the upper oil pan.

This thread is so deceiving. At first, it sounded like you blew like 2 motors in a row or something. Instead, you're complaining about $1000 fluid changes and wheels/tires. Lol.
$1500 for an airmatic strut jesus c. Too bad you don't live near me I would have charged $1000 looool.

It's not for everyone. He's over it, let him leave in peace. Buying one the cheapest e55's on auto trader is a wake up call to many people. They realize later why it's so cheap. It's sad sometimes to see a car get passed around to so many people.

Along the lines of Max H.'s comment, these new owners need to realize that their "$15k car" was originally an $85k-90k car, and will have repairs in line with a car of that caliber. If they wanted $40 ball joints and $25 oil changes, they should have bought a true $15k car.

No it didn't.. that's my point. If you had done the work yourself or worked with an honest technician with better rates.

Thank you for all the advice and opinions and on both sides of the coin you are all largely correct.
- I tried to trade it in today and was not able to get what I wanted for it. With that being said it forced me into scramble mode to recover some of the money spent on the car and went with plan #E...
- I sold back my Sequoia for the same amount that they were going to give me for my E55 so I jumped on it and basically I am keeping the E55.
- This will require a change in outlook and attitude and there are some things that I must do differently to keep a vehicle of this caliber and yes this will mean I must do some of these maintenance tasks myself. The new year will be an opportunity to get it where it needs to be and enjoy it overall more consistently.
Thank you everyone again for the input kind, harsh and honest alike. I do ask that since there were so many different perspectives posted here that we take that as an opportunity as well to keep the pool of information flowing when questions are asked or for help. Cheers!

I feel you bro, the E55 runs like a devil when no issues.
Once any issue appear- congratulations, your in a date with the devil
I have my 03 E55 for 3 years now, during that time only 3 issues.
Sounds good, right?
1.fuel pump dropped dead after 1 week ownership (luckily got a new one under the dealership warranty).
2.last september my gearbox dropped dead, had it completely rebuild for 6000$.
3.last month my airmaric dropped dead, i converted to coilovers, cost me 2000$.
Its sure raise the question "why the **** did i got this car?!".
But that smile you have when you kill a ferrari f430 with a 4 doors saloon car weight 1.6 ton- that's priceless.
Any "super-car performance" car you'll get will be expensive to maintain, no surprises here.
If you can afford- keep it, you already got it sorted.

I have a 2008 E63 with aftermarket warranty.
1) Replaced both valve covers.
2) Replaced left front strut with arnott
3) Replaced alternator/regulator
4) Replaced intake manifold bolts (not head bolts)
Repair was around 4-5k, I only paid 500 for a deductible. I have easycare, they are great.
