Oil leaking from oil filter housing?

So while in the process of replacing my alternator I notice a little fresh oil around the bottom of the oil filter housing. Apparently it leaked on the belts and splattered oil around a bit. Is there a seal around this area that is notorious for leaking, or do I just take apart the housing and replace everything?

Typically i would replace the whole thing but if that isn't in your budget you could just reseal the entire housing...

just making sure, you mean the oil filter housing on the engine? Thats from aluminium. It connects to the block by a big bolt, and there is a rubber seal ring between the block and the housing. Its a cheap part from dealer, and easy to change. cant really see why would you replace the housing itself?!
