08 E63 aux in glove compartment not working

Hey guys, I just bought an 08 E63 and i'm just wondering about how i'm suppose to get the AUX to work. In the picture you can see the hole but when I plug it in and switch to AUX mode, I hear nothing. The solution that I found might work is in the Youtube video where it shows him removing the stereo and
unplugging the iPhone wire / plugging in the AUX one. Can anyone confirm this is the same for the E63? I really want to put my harman kardons to work haha. Thanks!

I'm also a fairly new owner and had a similar experience. My AUX would work but the iPod hookup wouldn't. It's my understanding that you can have one or the other, not both. The dealer was able to swap them for me.

Yeah, I might just take it to the dealer or a mechanic because I tried removing the trim around the shifter and I used a lot of force and it still wouldn't come off...

That is correct. You can only have one work. You have to decide if you want the aux input or the iPod connection. It is super easy to take the dash apart to swap. Pull up on front of shifter trim. It will pop and and slide out from the back. Pull up on the lower front portion of the ashtray it will pop out. The cd changer just slides out. There are two, I believe t20 torx on the bottom of the command head unit that hold it in. They are a wing design so continue to loosen them and it will free your command. The iPod/ aux connection looks like a Ethernet cable if I remember correctly just swap them. They should both be right there behind the command

Got so close. Removed the CD changer with a t15 star bit, but I could not get enough clearance to actually pull it out all the way. The shifter trim was in the way and I'd rather not mess with it even more. So... we'll go to the mechanic tomorrow and let them handle it. Thank you!
