'Hood Open !' Message.....
Keeps appearing on the dash....
Everytime it happens I pop the hood and re-seat the sensor under the passenger side hinge. Not sure how this little sensor got un-seated from where it sits.... Maybe the cold weather. Who knows.
If I unplug this sensor, will it throw a permanent code? Will I experience any other issues?
TIA.

I'm pretty sure there is a sensor on each side. Hood has duel Laches. You can zip tie the sensor if it's lose.
If you take out the latch and sensor Make sure you put it back exactly like it was. The cables are 300-400 dollars depending if your hood will open when your done.

Sensor is only on the one side.
I'm going to try and lodge it in place tomorrow.
Was just wondering if I unplug the thing... will it throw a code or not.

I think if you just unplug it you will have a permanent hood open message. If it's a two wire switch, unplug it and using a MTM probe the switch side connector with the hood open and check for continuity. If there isn't continuity jump the wires feeding the switch and you'll never see the message again.
