I am in the process of doing some maintenance/upgrades on my 55k. At the moment, I am doing the fuel injectors. I purchased a set of the 550cc Bosch injectors.
Upon installing them, they do not have a "groove" cut into them that runs around the injector so that the indexing clip sits in uniformly. Instead, they have an orange "spacer" of sorts and the indexing clip doesn't ride at the exact same height on every injector.
Is this a huge problem or am I missing something? They all fit in the rail very snug and straight but the ride height, so-to-speak, MAY be +/- 0.5-1.5mm on each injector.
(I am aware I am new to this forum. But trust that I did some searching prior but I didn't come across anything exactly like this so please don't lambaste me for it )
You cannot use the OEM retaining clips with the Red Bosch injectors you have.
Now that being said I have a lot of cars run them with out and issues. Is it safe? I dont know.

The grooves are up higher on the injector, I used the OEM clips with all of mine, you have to pull the injector down to expose the groove, the clip does not go where the orange clip is
