Long time Forum Member, First time E55 owners
Hey all,
Just thought I would introduce myself.
My name is Jeff, I live in the Tampa Bay Area. I have been a member for many years. Longtime MB owner, had a bunch of diesel going all the way back to a 1959 180D and no I am not old, I have just owned alot of cars
After totaling my 05 C55 I found my way into the E55 because there were not many good choices of C55s in my neck of the woods, and the ones that were, were slightly overpriced IMO.
So I am now the owner of a 04 Obsidian Black E55 with 97K miles. I will post some pics soon and do my diligent search of the forum before asking too many questions. It needs a few little things but overall is seems to be a decent purchase.
It looks like SBC has been replaced recently. I have no records with the car. I only say it looks like that because it doesn't have any corrosion, where as the heads, alternator and other aluminum components under the hood have the usual look of corrosion that raw aluminum gets with age. (Once I get my DAS I will be able to check number of actuations )
Carfax shows a minor rear-end collision, but I investigated the car thoroughly and see no sheet metal repair on the inner structures, so I think it must have just been a bumper cover replacement needed.
Sorry for the long winded Post.

Romeomikehotel.. I did, I did a through inspection, wanted to take it to Werner's to have them to a PPI but they said I couldn't drive it all the way to Tarpon which I understand, and Lokey's PPI is no different than what I would do, other than scan with STAR. I drove it a couple of times, it needs tires, suspension hasn't sagged, SBC looks like a new unit, really shiny with no typical aluminum corrosion you would see with age. I believe it needs a tune up it is at almost 98k and it get s slight hesitation when accelerating under part throttle. I need to spend a little money on it but I got it for a really good price.

Honestly I still miss the C55. you sit so much lower in the C55 and it is so much lighter. This car is a rocket but I almost feel like I am sitting in a SUV in comparison because it is so much heavier and I sit so much higher up.
