Dr. Chill another grill question

Which grill do you have and does it come in chrome or just black?

This is the only way the Lorinser grille comes. This is what it looked like straight out of the box. The star looks black in the pic but it is chrome.

Then grille is made from some hard plastic compound. The carpet in the background is actually green, not beige.

Well what to do if you want the rest of the grill chrome like the star and the outer frame black?

Not possible hollaback...believe me I checked. Many chrome shops won't touch it because it's plastic. Others that do sometimes work with plastic say theres no clean stopping point between the chrome and paint. I was assured that if I tried that, it's be flaking off within a year.

But with the black grille and chrome star it's truly different and definatly more aggressive. Befitting the E55. (looks smokin hot too)

I've looked at all the other grilles and on the Lorinser, the proportions just look... well just look right.

You gotta be kidding me. That was one of the things I wanted to get to make this machine look a little sporty. Now I don't know if E will be in my future. That CLK is starting to look better. There has to be a grill that looks like the CL grill. Why won't the CL grill fit on the E?

i think the lorinser and expressions grills look great, but I prefer the low-key look of the stock grill w/o the hood star

I think there are three appropriate "looks" depending on your taste.

1) standard grill with upright star ornament for most conservative look
2) flat badge and starred grill for sportier look
3) flat badge, blackened starred grill, and dark tinted windows for maximum aggressive look

Depends what message you want your car to send to those you are passing
