Wow!
Gotta say that for a luxury sedan that's some really garish, in-your-face red leather.
It would be fine if it were red **** carpet and you were pimpin' ho's in da hood.
The pano roof on a white car stands out like a sore thumb.
You can only see it in one of the pictures though.
The white exterior actually looks pretty nice though.

Some sniffing around on the internet produced this conclusion. The E55 that you see with the red interior was probably going to somewhere in the Middle East. Therefore such an interior could probably be ordered from those places. I figure it was going to the Middle East because of this picture that goes along with the series. This is according to the website below too:

What you must notice though is that we are looking at two cars. The car with the red interior is the one with all the foam still left on the car from transportation. The car with the license plate parked in front of a house is not the same car. You can tell because in some shots you can see the headrests and steering wheel. These are the regular charcoal color.
This is the page from which the pictures of the red interior car were taken: http://www.hadel.net/autos/html/d_pk...55__model.html
You can use a German web translator to read it.
It has information about the S63 and SL55 too.

I was looking around for a pic of a midnight blue E55 for a friend and stumbled onto the Italian MB webpage.
On it you can design and look at photos of <designo> E's.
That's what appears to be pictured above in white/red....a designo E55.
On the designo page you'll see 10 colors of leather to choose from (including red), option of 2 tone vs. monotone, and 4 colors of wood (including cinnamon!?).
Take a look at red leather and cinnamon wood. Ack.
I really liked the dark burgundy leather with black leather, esp because you get the 2 tone steering wheel.
Designo offers some really nice color options in Europe...the MB USA site indicates there are only 2 designo options for E55 in USA.

Thanks for posting those pics. I must say that it doesn't look quite as nice in white as my C32 did. Now I'm even more happy with my silver. In my opinion they shouldn't offer a red interior. Sometimes people need to be protected from themselves. lol
