Who knows how to clean your own MAF
I want to clean the MAF on my '00 E55.
Someone has told me that may be the key to performance drop.
Anyone know how to access and service it yourself? Is it a owner-serviceable item?

You can replace it easily but if you are willing to take the risk, it can *sometimes* be cleaned with electronic contact cleaner. The wire is VERY delicate so be prepared for the worst.

2. spray several squirts of brake or carb cleaner - BE CAREFUL! if the sensor wires break the MAF is junk and they r not cheap.
3. replace the O ring and add smear of oil
4. put back the whole thing
or
use cotton bud with alcohol
