Advice - Painting Surge Tanks and Intake Scoops...
Guys,
I am having the surge tanks painted red. I have intake scoops (I know +/- .0005 HP) but they look cool. What are your thoughts on color for the intake scoops?
1) Red to match the surge tanks
2) Dark color (dark grey or black) so it matches the engine bay area
Also, the car will have a polished aluminum (almost chrome) intake so you get the full picture (again, +/- .0005 HP)...
My car is black with stock chrome grill. I am not sure if the red would stand out too much when looking at the front of the car. I have done a ton of google image searches and haven't seen the red scoops with black with the hood down.

Very thin layer of Vaseline on the lettering and logo. Wipe clean when done. Then I sanded the lettering with 200 grit sandpaper to refresh it and give it a uniform look.

Thanks to all that who have replied. The more I saw black the more I liked it but too late. They are already back in and painted red (the mechanic who also works at a body shop did it) and the AMG is unpainted. Intake scoops will match the front versus going red. I will post pics soon.
