I really do not think E60 is cheap by any means (if you are comparing to an E39).
How many of you here owned an E39 before? I have had two E39 within last 3 years. The std E60 interior although cheap by pretty much everybody's standard, it's actually better than the E39 it replaces.
With M5, e39 interior got a big upgrade in materials, I expect the e60 will get the same treatment. The E39 M5 interior isn't that bad compare to the W211 E55. I admit it pales when compare with W211 E55. But it's not as bad as people made it out to be.
As far as auto mode in SMG. Yes, it shifts hard. But keep in mind, it still is a manual gear box, so shift it manually!!!!
